DevOps / Cloud Administrator (US)

The Opportunity

Matilda Cloud is one of the most consequential platforms being built in cloud right now. We help enterprises do what most of them know they need to do but cannot figure out how to do well: assess complex multi-cloud estates, migrate workloads without breaking the business, modernize what is worth modernizing, and run all of it with intelligence baked in. Our platform pairs machine learning with real-time operational data to automate work that has historically required armies of consultants and months of risk.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven DevOps / Cloud Administrator to own two critical functions: deploying Matilda Cloud software across all assigned environments, and administering our multi-cloud footprint — AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, and on-prem OpenStack. You will keep the engine room of our platform running: provisioning, automating, monitoring, optimizing, and troubleshooting the environments our product and customers depend on every day. As the business grows, so will the scope of this role.

Why This Role Is Different

Most cloud administration roles hand you one provider and a runbook. Here you will work across five platforms, own both the DevOps pipeline and the environments it deploys into, and serve as a trusted escalation point for customer-facing installation issues. You will see how your work directly shapes product delivery, customer experience, and cost efficiency — with the visibility and growth that come from being close to the core of the business.

What You'll Own

  1. DevOps & Software Deployment

  • Automate and deploy Matilda Cloud software across all assigned environments.

  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, and on-prem OpenStack.

  • Design and maintain automated deployment systems and processes.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to continuously improve the software delivery process.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Serve as an escalation point for the Ops team on installation issues in customer environments.

  1. Cloud Administration

  • Support onboarding of new cloud workloads.

  • Provision VMs and containers requested by the Product and Ops teams.

  • Optimize cloud resources and implement cost-effective solutions.

  • Own capacity management for assigned cloud environments — AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, and on-prem OpenStack.

  • Build reporting and monitoring for the cloud environments, and monitor all aspects of their health.

  • Manage users and access across the cloud environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the cloud environments.

  • Document cloud environments and produce reports to support design and capacity planning.

  1. Operations & Team Support

  • Document all work in the ticketing system.

  • Serve as a backup resource for the local IT team.

Who You Are

  • An automation-first thinker — if you have to do something twice, you script it.

  • A systematic troubleshooter who stays calm under pressure — production issues sharpen your focus rather than rattle it.

  • A clear communicator who can translate technical detail for engineers, product teams, and customers alike.

  • A disciplined documenter — you know that tickets, runbooks, and reports are what make a team scalable.

  • A natural collaborator who works seamlessly across Engineering, Product, Ops, and IT.

  • Adaptable and eager to grow in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What You Bring

Required

  • 3+ years of experience managing cloud environments with at least one major provider — AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, or Google Cloud.

  • 2+ years of hands-on DevOps experience.

  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and automation software (e.g., Jenkins, Puppet, Chef).

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong problem-solving and teamwork instincts.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • For remote work: a stable, high-bandwidth internet connection to ensure reliability on customer and partner calls.

Preferred

  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).

  • Knowledge of IT systems administration, including Office 365 and Exchange.
